DAPU participated the INNOTECH Carnival and Anniversary Celebration in HKUST (Guangzhou)

From June 16th to 17th, 2023, HKUST (Guangzhou) hosted the INNOTECH Carnival and Anniversary Celebration, where they presented the advancements made in technology innovation, knowledge transfer, university-industry collaboration, teaching, and research since their inception one year ago.

The INNOTECH Carnival attracted an impressive number of over 100 cutting-edge scientific and technological innovation projects and startups across various domains including AI, big data, IoT, metaverse, new materials, energy conservation and environmental protection, autonomous driving, and intelligent manufacturing. Government leaders, renowned investment companies, distinguished scholars, entrepreneurs, and outstanding alumni were invited to promote industry-academia-research collaboration and achievement transformation. Together, they worked towards creating a new blueprint for high-quality development in the innovation and technology industry, supporting the establishment of an international science and technology innovation centre in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Professor Ni Mingxuan, the President of HKUST (Guangzhou), warmly welcomed the leaders and guests from various sectors who were present at the event. He emphasized that the main objective of organizing the Carnival was to share the most recent accomplishments in scientific and technological innovation at HKUST (Guangzhou) with the wider community. It aims to build an integrated platform for industry, academia, research, and investment, stimulate enthusiasm for innovation and technology, promote the transformation of research results, and serve the technological innovation, industrial upgrading, and high-quality development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Since its establishment in 1991, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology has adhered to the principles of innovation, progressiveness, inclusiveness, and originality. It has made significant progress in education, scientific research, and knowledge transfer. In just thirty years, HKUST has continuously climbed global university rankings and is recognized as one of the top young universities worldwide. The HKUST (Guangzhou) is a new cutting-edge technology-driven university that integrates high-quality educational resources from China’s mainland and Hong Kong. It explores frontier interdisciplinary construction, innovative talent cultivation models, and nurtures outstanding talents with international perspectives and innovative capabilities.

DAPU was established in the Greater Bay Area in 2005, focusing on the research, development, production, and sales of high-stability clocks with all levels, multi-variety clock chips, and RF devices. It has consistently invested a high proportion in basic research, technology introduction, and product development. Breakthroughs and innovations have been achieved in clock chip design, high-precision clock compensation algorithms, low-phase noise circuit design for clocks, precision crystal scheme design, intelligent precision manufacturing and testing processes, etc., establishing an independent clock product technology system. The core products such as high-stability clocks, real-time clocks (RTC) chips, time synchronization (IEEE1588 PTP) chips have reached international mainstream standards. The products have been widely used in wireless communication, new energy vehicle electronics, positioning navigation, security monitoring, data centers, smart meters, energy storage systems, smart homes, smart wearables and other fields.

DAPU highly values industry-academia-research cooperation and has formed a close partnership with HKUST (Guangzhou) by establishing the “High-performance Clock Chip Joint Laboratory”. DAPU closely follows customers’ needs and market trends with strong industrialization capabilities. And HKUST (Guangzhou) is dedicated to an internationalized education and innovative research model, aiming to nurture talents with global perspectives and innovative abilities. The cooperation between the two parties can fully leverage their respective strengths to gather advantageous resources for research and development and commercialization of cutting-edge topics. This will result in the creation of intellectual property rights with high technological value and commercial value while industrializing innovation and research achievements. As an outstanding alumna of HKUST who has achieved successful entrepreneurship and practiced industry-academia-research cooperation, Ms. Chen Baohua, the founder, chairman, and general manager of DAPU, was invited to participate in this anniversary celebration and accepted interviews from multiple media outlets at the event.114.jpg

During the event, DAPU showcased its high-stability clocks with all levels of equivalence, multi-variety clock chips, and RF device series, providing detailed introductions to guests and engaging in in-depth technical exchanges with experts and scholars. This also sparked curiosity and questions from many alumni and students. The company received unanimous praise from the guests and students present due to its superior product performance, rich variety, and wide applications.
